Berberis thunbergii ‘Ruby Star’ PBR

‘Ruby Star’ PBR is a slow-growing, extremely compact growing Berberis. After six years, the plant reaches a height of 30 cm and a width of 40 cm. the leaves are wonderful carmine red colour with a golden ring when the plants is older during the year. The tiny yellow flowers are produced in May. The highly winter hardy ‘Ruby Star’ requires a sunny spot and is tolerant of less humus-rich soil. It is recommended for low hedges, borders and rock gardens and also looks good in a pot on the terrace.
