New pyramid-shaped Ginkgo biloba cultivar, found in 1999 as a seedling in the nursery of Jo De Martelaer in Belgium. In the meantime, the tree has been extensively tested on characteristics such as disease resistance, winter resistance, etc.

Due to its compact pyramid-shaped growth, this tree is perfectly suited for smaller gardens, parks and public green spaces as a solitary tree, a hedge, tub plant and even as a tree on a street or lane. This cultivar can be easily pruned, has a strong growth and decorative value, which is why it is truly versatile. One of the most eye-catching characteristics of this cultivar is the unprecedented regular growth. In a very early phase, the tree already has an even, strong and densely-branched growth, with a beautiful straight trunk and short robust lateral branches. The fan-shaped leaf is semi-lobed and grey-blue in colour. In autumn, this Ginkgo transforms to gold-yellow and retains this colour for a long time.

The Ginkgo biloba ‘Pyramidalis Prof. M. Senelle’ is resistant to disease and grows well in any type of soil, even along the coast!

Ginkgo biloba Pyramidalis Prof. M Senelle (‘JDM001’) PBRis protected by CPVO with number: EU20171923. Propagation without any written permission is prohibited.
